FAMILY TRADITION
Atalanta Madera we are Isabel and Ana Neira, two sisters heirs to a long family tradition in craftswork wood turning in the Berres’ parish, in A Estrada (Pontevedra). We grew up listening to stories about wood lathes, carvings and the proffesion drew us in. Between the two of us we do everything, the webpage, the design, the craftship, we also finish each product, devise the different types of packaging and we even take some of the photos.

INNOVATORS OF TRADITION
We start from the root of our family tradition in the use of the wood lathe in different types of objects and, making a current and committed analysis to the sustainability of the environment, we devise products that can be enjoyed anywhere in the world. They can be used for savouring a typical dish of our cuisine, for Japanese shushi or even a brunch in New York. Simple designes for timeless goods.

HANDMADE WORK FROM BEGINNING TO END
In these times of extreme specialization in many professions, Atalanta Madera recovers the Renaissance spirit of the craftswork who supervises the entire production process. We monitor the wood we use, choosing close-by and controlled cut dows. We create from the sketches all the way to the finished product, we select the ideal finishes for each use — always trying to be as natural as possible — and take advantage of packaging elements that, until now, were thrown away, such as chips.

WITHOUT LIMITS
We love challenges, otherwise we wouldn’t be here. Maintaining and updating a traditional craftwork is a challenge in itself, but we go even further. We undertake collaboration projects with other craftmen, we make special custom-made products and we are always thinking about what new designs we can make to give life to the best and most sustainable materials that nature can offers us.
From a rural workshop to anywhere in the world.
A upright product vision for a global society

Wood turning has been linked to our family for over 200 years. Let us tell you a little bit about the family history to which we own being what we are today.

WOOD TURNERS IN BERRES
Our small village is the birth place of a long saga of craftwork turners linked to the furniture industry for centuries before us.

SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE
We are very fortunate of having a unique natural enviroment. Taking care of it and helping others take care of it is an inescapable responsibility for us.

AT THE BEST CHEFS’ TABLES
It is an honor for us that some of the greatest chefs from Galicia and other areas have chosen our products to present their culinary creations.
